Country:

General:

The artist Albulan Neziri completed his study of the arts at the University of Pristina in Kosovo, and his artistic experience diversified between the fields of painting, photography, and sculpture, and alongside stone carving he presented artistic works in wood, metal, and different materials. He has specialized for more than ten years in the field of contemporary sculpture and memorial sculpture; during this time he participated in many international exhibitions and symposiums specialized in the field of sculpture.

While he considers his participation in the 30th edition of the Aswan International Symposium for Granite Sculpture an exceptional journey, as the city of Aswan enjoys a long history connected to stone and memorial sculpture, which makes working in this place as if it were a direct dialogue between contemporary artistic practice and ancient civilizational heritage, and this historical context distinguishes the Aswan Symposium from other symposiums held in other cities, as the quality of the solid granite stone, and its original connection to the traditions of stone carving, is an exceptional case, for sculpture here is not merely an artistic process, but a complete cultural experience. Regarding the philosophy upon which his artistic work in Aswan is based, Albulan Neziri says that it proceeds from the concept of communication as a basic human need, and the sculptural work expresses a moment of dialogue between mass and void, creating a state of connection, interaction, and presence, even in the most difficult conditions, indicating that this work represents an extension of his artistic research around simplified and massive forms with symbolic indications, and combines between his interest in the human form, the stone mass, and finding the relationship between

them.
